Observation of cryogenically cooled ice particles inside the high-speed water jet

چکیده
The Ice abrasive water jet technology uses cryogenically cooled ice particles instead of the mineral used in Abrasive technology. aim is to avoid contamination workpieces with abrasives and reduce environmental impact this are sucked into a high-speed speeds up 600 mxs-1 using Venturi effect. Direct observation process very difficult due extreme operating conditions. We have clearly shown that at least some particles, which cryogenic temperatures when entering jet, neither completely melt nor crushed contact jet. Further on, erosion capability was evaluated by blasting aluminium glass surfaces two impinging angles compared garnet abrasive, showing potential generate similar damage workpiece material as garnet. These findings pave way for exploring waterjet wide range new applications, such food processing, medical implant turbine blade manufacturing, post-processing parts manufactured additive manufacturing technologies.
